. . .

Mike Helbing has poured his emotions from the time he spent in Vietnam into this artwork. Many of his compelling sculptures are on display at the National Vietnam Veterans Museum in Chicago's South Loop.

The common theme with these dramatic pieces and the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum, where it's displayed, is raw emotion. It's a cathartic healing for the artists and for the visitor. A mere glimpse of the emotional costs of war.

Mike Helbing is one of the founders and is on the Board of Directors of the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum. The National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum inspires greater understanding of the real impact of war with a focus on Vietnam. The museum collects, preserves and exhibits art inspired by combat and created by veterans.
